If you like comics and/or wrestling I have a couple podcasts for you. I support these shows on Patreon and I want them to grow so if you want to give them a shot I would appreciate it a lot. They’re both part of an indie podcast network called Dragon Wagon Radio which is completely supported by patrons like me, and well. I’d like them to grow!

If you like wrestling there’s Pro Wrestling Palskis. This is the little engine that could, having been around since 2014, albeit under a different name. I’ve listened pretty much since the beginning and the current hosts are fun and the shows format is one of my favorites. I don’t agree with them all the time but I love the show dearly. Jake and Scott are honest but also fans of wrestling, Jake even used to wrestle! They even have a hotline where you can ask questions or leave silly comments and such.

If you like comics, there’s Coycast. Coycast is named after the host Coy Jandreau, who does a lot of pop culture stuff on YouTube, IG, Twitter, and tiktok. His co-host, Producer Jake (who is also the host of Pro Wrestling Palskis by the by), is the founder of DWR and while I razz him a lot in the Discord, he’s a wonderful addition to the show and they have great chemistry. They talk about movie news and also have a week where people call the hotline (much like PW Palskis) and ask absurd questions or play silly games with the hosts. One time I asked who they would cast Tom Hanks as in a comic movie.

(all prohibitively expensive and in-high-demand types of items.)

jellyneo, the premier neopets website, has recorded prices of some items plummeting from 2,000,000 neopoints to 4,000 neopoints IN THE LAST THREE HOURS. this is when most people haven’t even heard about the event or OPENED THEIR BAGS YET.

and of course. cherry on top. 20-year-old account holders are crytyping on the site events neoboard about how mean and cruel it is to make rare stamps part of the prize pool, because their entire identity hinges on being part of the neopian bourgeoisie, and they are having MELTDOWNS over their assets being devalued until they’re part of the lowly proletariat.

genuinely i think a big problem with science education is we spend too much time in high school telling students DNA is like, the Magical Essence of an Organism.

dna is mostly just instructions for building proteins, and not very persuasive ones at that. it sits in the nucleus of the cell, and what happens after RNA transcription isn’t any of its business. this is a good thing! it means we can override it sometimes when we need to (and when we know how). but a lot of rhetoric around DNA (and therefore gender and sex and morphological freedom in general) treats it like this Platonic sorcery that must be obeyed, lest we incur the wrath of the gods. and it’s nothing so special!

So there is a dog shelter(?) for senior dogs called Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary. They had a couple social media pages, among them a tumblr page. They’d repost posts from their Facebook about the different dogs at the shelter, very cute stuff. This goes on for months, it gets popular bc people love dogs. One day the blog (entirely out of the blue) posts “I just want to get dicked down again =/” and then never posts again. Everyone involved was like hey what the fuck so they messaged the Facebook page and they were like hey is the person running your tumblr page okay they’ve been acting real weird, and the person running the Facebook page was like huh??? We don’t have a tumblr page????
